The thought of greenhouse gardening can be a bit overwhelming if you don't know much about it.  However, once you delve into it you will discover it is no harder than most everything else in life and the more you do it the easier it becomes.  There is some automation that can help you as well as keeping your eyes and heart open to additional information.

Having a basic greenhouse can be fun and exciting.  It all depends on what you choose to grow, how much time and effort you want to spend on your greenhouse garden and your attitude.  Any time you start a project, you need to have a good positive attitude and be ready to put your best effort forward.

You don't necessarily need a big fancy greenhouse to get started.  A basic garden greenhouse might be the only thing you need to feed your gardening hobby year round whether you enjoy herbs and vegetables or orchards and other beautiful flowers.  Basic doesn't mean small or large as there are many good basic greenhouses made to fit areas of varying sizes.

In order to determine the size you need, you will need to measure the available space for your greenhouse.  Don't crowd your overall gardening area and make sure you leave room outside for any spring and summer gardens you intend to maintain.  Choose your size wisely before you build or assemble your new greenhouse.

Lets talk about what a greenhouse is made of and why.  Greenhouses are much simpler than you might think.  They are basically a frame with walls and a roof made of plastic or glass that allows light to pass through that will reach your plants for healthy growth.  The amount of money you have might influence the materials you use, the size greenhouse and whether you build a greenhouse or buy a greenhouse kit to construct.

Like the Romans who were the first greenhouse gardeners on record, you will want a heat source for the cold winter months.  You can heat rocks like they did or make room in your budget for a greenhouse heater.  Wire racks and rods will also help keep your plants and hanging baskets organized and are well worth adding them to your budget as well.

There are many enthusiast garden greenhouse gardeners that love to garden in the snow. They tend to like a polycarbonate garden greenhouse for its strength.
